Journalists for Human Rights (JHR), in collaboration with the “National Center for Justice in Syria,” recently conducted a highly impactful legal training workshop. This workshop brought together 18 participants, including lawyers and human rights activists, to explore critical intersections between journalism and human rights and to deepen their understanding of legal proceedings and protections.
The workshop covered a range of essential topics, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex legal landscape. Participants explored the vital role that journalism plays in promoting and protecting human rights. This session emphasized how accurate and ethical reporting can shine a light on human rights abuses and drive societal change. By understanding this relationship, participants can better support journalists in their mission to inform and empower the public.
The workshop also provided an in-depth look at the legal procedures and protocols involved when cases are brought before an investigating judge. Participants gained valuable insights into how these proceedings unfold, the rights of the accused, and the responsibilities of legal practitioners in ensuring fair trials and justice.
